This Wednesday Nayereh and I were determined to enjoy some good cupcakes, so we set out to find Lola's Kitchen. When we arrived at the address, we were presented with the distinct smell of something delicious baking and this warehouse-like building:
Not really knowing what to do, we wandered into a large industrial kitchen, looking for someone with answers. A man appeared and when we asked were we might acquire some cupcakes, asked for our order information. It turns out, Lola's specializes in cupcake delivery and catering, so an advanced order is entirely necessary. Lucky for us, they happened to have two banana cupcakes leftover that they graciously allowed us to have. Never having had banana cupcakes before, we opted for chocolate frosting. The cupcake was DELICIOUS! Banana was a flavor I probably would not have chosen myself, but I absolutely loved it. The taste was hearty and subtly sweet (I despise excessively sweet cupcakes.). The cupcakes were so good, we're considering actually placing an order for later in the week. Never fear, faithful readers, I'll keep you posted on all cupcake-related developments!

Do keep me posted on all things cupcake...I love them too and am looking to catalogue the good exemplars around the world...
Hmm, aren't they fairy cakes in England? Hee hee :) Nice to know there's a good source in London! But of course, you're very much capable of making your own delicious creations ;)
By far, Hummingbird Cafe in Portobello Road. You won't go wrong! They are the best.
i went to Hummingbird Bakery today! the line was massive, but it was definitely worth the wait.
Haha, I love that you actually went to the bakery! I have been meaning to try Lola's for ages; my coworker is constantly raving about them. I think she gets hers at Harrods Food Hall.
My favorite cupcake store in London is "Buttercup" at Westfield mall, their cupcakes are delicious!
